Odkar obstaja, Izrael izvaja ene najgrozljivejših zločinov proti človeštvu in kršitve človekovih pravic. Izrael še danes rutinsko uničuje palestinske domove, napada skupnosti in vasi. Prisilne izselitve, deložacije in rušenje bivališč palestinskega prebivalstva so stalnica skozi celoten čas obstoja izraelske države.

Sheikh Jarrah v zgoščeni obliki ponazarja grozo naseljenskega kolonializma.

Zahtevamo konec mučenja in zatiranja palestinskih civilistov in otrok v izraelskih zaporih.

In nenazadnje, zahtevamo takojšnjo mednarodno solidarnost in ukrepanje proti vsem oblikam okupacije in kolonizacije na področju Palestine!

No a conflict, its a genocide!

Israel is not a country! Israel is a settler colony that has been violently replacing the indigenous people with settlers. It is the modern and sadly the most perfect example of settler colonialism. The imperial and colonial west, including Europe have long turned away from acknowledging this 'settler colonialism' and turning the narratives around it in order to prevent their own guilt trips and avoiding questions about their own existence without justice and reparations to the colonised.

Since its coming into existence (not so long ago) Israel has committed some of the most horrendous crimes against humanity and human right violations while trying to destroy more than 500 native villages and towns causing displacement of more than 7 million Palestinian refugees and above all denying them the legal right to return. Israel routinely demolishes Palestinian homes and entire communities and sometimes even villages. Forcible transfers, forced evictions and demolitions are sadly a continuous process since the very beginning of this settler colony.  Even though this morbid reality haunts us most of the time, every once in a while it exaggerates limits beyond comprehension and demands to stir up some action to show resistance and global solidarity.

Sheikh Jarrah was such a recent incident. An affluent neighbourhood of Jerusalem where more than thirty Palestinian families currently reside witnessed forced evictions of four families from their homes by the Israeli settler organisations.

Already known for their unlawful killings and excessive use of force the Israeli forces showed up with violent crackdown on residents resisting evictions. It is nothing new to anyone how the Israeli forces routinely use live ammunition on protestors even though they do not pose any imminent threat. There have been incidents in the past where these forces have used civilians as target practice and shoot at farmers and fishermen just to assert fear, domination and for mere humiliation.

Sadly, Sheikh Jarrah exemplifies the horror of how this settler colonialism is functioning. Following the brutal crackdown on residents and protestors resisting eviction the heavily armed Israeli forces flash raided the Al Aqsa mosque where the peaceful worshippers had gathered for the call to prayer in the holy month of Ramadan. The brutal armed raid with stun grenades, rubber bullets and water canons ended up with more than 300 Palestinians injured. However, sadly this did not stop there. Hours later, following escalations from Hamas, Israel carried out dozens of airstrikes on the region killing 20 Palestinians civilians including 9 children!

It is time to show solidarity for Palestinians who have been protesting for decades but especially in the recent weeks against the efforts to forcefully evict Palestinian families in the Israeli court system from Sheikh Jarrah and the brutal crackdown of the Israeli forces on the residents and the protestors.

-We call for movements to change the narratives around ‘FIGHTS” between Israel and Palestine and demand the western media depict it as it i.e an oppressive settler colonialism.

-We call for the ailing guilt ridden and Islamophobic Europe (and the west) to stop portraying it as a religious conflict between Jews and Muslims and reveal the apartheid and discrimination faced by the Palestinian jews, Palestinian christians and not just the Palestinian muslims in the occupied  parts of Palestine. Reducing it to religious conflict and twisting the narratives around that denies the Palestinian people  their right to liberation, freedom and justice.

-We demand to end all forcible evictions, forced transfers and demolition of Palestinian residents and houses.

-We demand immediate halt to killings and excessive use of forces on protestors.

-We call for freedom of movement of the Palestinians that are living in the biggest open air prison of the world with almost 600 checkpoints and roadblocks that restrict movement not only for work and education but also for medical needs that has been worsened in the times of this global pandemic.

-We call to end all arbitrary detention of Palestinian civilians (especially children!) by the Israeli forces (that conduct raids at people’s homes mostly at nights!) and taking them to Israeli prisons violating the international law that prohibits the movements of detainees into the territory of the occupying force. We call to end all torture and ill treatment of the Palestinian civilians and children in these detentions.

-Last, but not the least! We demand immediate international solidarity and action against all forms of occupation and colonisation of the Israel in the Palestinian territory!
