Pogoji uporabe spletne strani
Zakaj torej www.komunal.org"? Ta izmenjava gradiv ni le navdihujoča in rešena banalnih odmikov, temveč poraja dialektiko v okviru naših lastnih bojev. Proizvajamo, in to v veliki meri.
Zato so naša splošna (in razvijajoča se) načela objavljanja in vzdrževanja strani:
1) objavljamo besedilne, avdio in vizualne (video in foto) prispevke, ki prihajajo neposredno iz aktivnega boja za različne vrste politik, ki nasprotujejo izključujočim težnjam, kot so homofobija, rasizem in seksizem;
2) zaželeno je, da avtorji podajajo izrecno politično vsebino. Naš cilj je spodkopavati hierarhije, ki obvladujejo naše družbene odnose, ne pa liberalno ali konservativno de facto podpiranje te nadvlado;
3) sprejemamo vse jezike. Če je mogoče, smo vedno veseli spremnega prevoda v slovenščino ali angleščino;
4) raje imamo izvirno, samoorganizirano produkcijo kot pa reprodukcijo tega, kar so drugje že objavili drugi; vseeno pa bomo razmišljali tudi o reprodukcijah že objavljenih vsebin;
5) prednost ima vsebina, ki ne predstavlja dogmatičnih ali institucionalnih stališč, temveč izhaja iz specifičnih, samoorganiziranih praks, želja in srečanj;
6) ne zanimajo nas politične stranke, politične institucije ali državna propaganda. Te izključujemo predvsem zato, ker ne potrebujejo še več platform za propagiranje svojih stališč. Veliko bolj pa nas zanimajo stališča, ki pretresajo razmerja moči in prevlado v družbi, kar pa je na splošno nemogoče z institucionalnega vidika;
7) ne zanima nas propaganda nevladnih organizacij ali civilne družbe. Te so vsekakor lahko zaveznik gibanj v strateških trenutkih, vendar pa niso nikoli popolnoma neodvisna od države;
8) nismo novinarji in prispevkov poklicnih novinarjev ne bomo nujno upoštevali. Zanima nas vsebina, ki prihaja iz samega boja, ne pa vsebina objektivnih opazovalcev;
9) mislimo, da je družba polna nasprotij. Tako se bodo ta odražala tudi v medijski vsebini (kar je prav!). Vsi med nami nismo popolnoma enako politično reflektirani in artikulirani, tako da se lahko v isti vsebini tu in tam pojavijo nasprotujoča si stališča. Tega se ne bojimo, ampak raje pozdravljamo kot priložnost za učenje o družbi, v kateri živimo, in za iskanje poti onkraj nadvlade;

English:
It seems sometimes that we are overwhelmed with media content, from twitter to facebook and websites and blogs. Digital media and production has opened the door to all of us to produce. This is a beautiful thing, but it also means we can so easily get lost in the crowed. This massive production is certainly a democratic space that enables difference to become a positive and takes on many horizontal characteristics. But it also tends towards the banal, or at worst towards a reproduction of centrism where the majority can drown the marginal by contaminating media space with more, louder, brighter and emptier content. Part of the democratic and horizontal nature of this autonomous, self-organized media production (the ability to filter and chose) is thus lost and the consumer is again led towards filling themselves with vanilla (with apologies to the actual spice). But this vanilla is a flavor of dominant, politically correct, white, heterosexual, male norms. It is the flavor of colonization. It is the flavor of shortage, austerity and a fordist work-ethic. In short, it is the flavor of capital.
So why komunal.org? Clearly we cannot operate outside of capitalism (yet!). But we can provide a space for local media producers who are embedding their media in the various nodes of social movements that aim to undermine the vanilla politics of capital. In this, the site is a media commons, where production and reproduction do not degrade the content, but give it increased life and use-value without profit motive - and somewhere we contribute what we can and take what we need. In short, we created this space to enable publishing original works that attack in a diverse and creative way mental and physical colonization, sexism and homophobia, racism and a political correctness that kills all humor and initiative. This sharing of materials is not only inspirational and free of banal distraction, but it produces a dialectic within our own struggles. Our content, and we by extension, take on autonomy and are transformed through the interaction. We learn what others are doing; we share our practices and ideas; we all think about its meaning and problems in relationship; we change ourselves without homogenizing. We produce, and produce in, abundance.
To that end, our general (and evolving) policies of publishing and maintenance of the site are:
1) We publish text, audio and visual (video and photo) media that is coming directly from an active struggle for a different kind of politics that opposes closed, fascist tendencies, such as homophobia, racism and sexism;
2) Content and contributors should be explicitly political. Our objective is undermining hierarchies that rule our social relations, not liberal or conservative de facto support of this domination;
3) We embrace all languages. If possible we always are happy for an accompanying translation into Slovenian or English;
4) We favor original, self-organized production rather than reproducing what others have already published elsewhere; but reproductions of published content will be considered;
5) We favor content that does not represent dogmatic or organizational positions, but rather come from specific, self-organized practices, desires and encounters;
6) We are not interested in political parties, political institutions or the propaganda of the state. We exclude these positions mostly because they do not need more platforms for propagating their positions. But we are also more interested in a position that questions power relations and domination in society, which is generally impossible from an institutional point-of-view;
7) We are not interested in NGO or civil society propaganda. Certainly civil society can be an ally of movements in strategic moments, but they are also never independent of the state.
8) We are not journalists and no contributions of professional journalists will be considered. We are interested in content from within struggles, not that of objective observers;
9) We think society is full of contradictions. So media content will (and should!) also reflect this. We are not all of us perfectly politically reflected and articulated creatures, so at times contradictory positions may appear in the same content. We do not fear this, but rather embrace it as an opportunity to learn about the society we live in, and to trace the paths of domination.
10) Content can be submitted via the contact form of the website, or by emailing it directly to info[at]komunal.org;
11) Final decision on content is with editorial board.
If you would like to challenge any of these policies, we are happy for you to get in touch via the website. It is always a work in process of becoming.
