Akademski kolegij je najugodnejši študentski dom v Ljubljani. V kratkem mu grozi zaprtje, ker Mestna občina Ljubljana načrtuje prenovo stavbe in prenamembo prostora za kongresne, kulturne in sejemske dejavnosti, s čimer se mestni center v kapitalističnem duhu širi v notranjost Bežigrada.

Letos je po polovici študijskega leta na študentsko sobo še vedno čakalo več kot 600 študentov. Nekateri študentje so bili primorani živeti v hostlih in plačevati turistično takso. Izguba študentskega doma bo stanovanjsko krizo študentov samo še poglobila, zaradi premajhne kapacitete študentskih domov pa bo oktobra stanovanjski trg preplavilo še 1200 tujih študentov, kar bo še poostrilo rast že tako visokih najemnin v prestolnici. Ljubljana, dovolj!
