NAŠI KOMENTARJI NA SPREMEMBE ZAKONA O TUJCIH IN ZAKONA O MEDNARODNI ZAŠČITI
Tiskovna konferenca, Ljubljana 22.11.2021
JEZIK
Mi nismo kriminalci in prisilno zadrževanje krši naše osnovne pravice do svobode gibanja. Zahtevamo pravico do zasebnosti in dostojanstvenega življenja znotraj azilnega doma, brez vstopanja v naše sobe brez našega privoljenja, brez vsakodnevnih preverjanj.
PRAVNI POSTOPKI
Zahtevamo boljše prevajalce, dostop do odvetnikov in informacij o naših pravicah.

OUR VIEWS ON THE NEW REFUGEE AND FOREIGN NATIONALS LAW
Press conference, Ljubljana 22.11.2021
LANGUAGE
Before you demand language tests from us, you must provide proper educational capacity - 24 hours is not enough to pass A1 test, other countries offer at least three times more classes - we can't learn if teachers just with us Speaking Slovenian or English, we need teachers who speak in our language or have a translator class as well as teaching materials in our language.
- People who speak Serbian and Croatian and can learn Slovenian easily, should have separate classes from foreigners who can't learn that easily, the level of teaching is very different.
-There are not enough quality teachers, many pass lessons just to earn money, not to be able to learn anything - the quality of translation is very poor in attitudes and many don't even speak the language they claim) for example Persian Linguists who translate into Dari(, you have to train and hire new people.
- Translators should not be refugees from refugee homes, this makes us insecure due to information leak. Language tests cannot be a prerequisite for social assistance.
JOBS
If you want to join the market as fast as possible, we can't afford to pay without access to affordable jobs. - If you cut off our rent subsidies, we can't live with our current wage. - Since many of us have education and certificates that are not valid in Slovenia, we need better training for skilled jobs. - Current employment/training programs don't help, because companies only receive government subsidies to hire us for 6 months and immediately dismiss us after that.
ASYLUM HOME OR SHELTER
Refugee house is not a normal market place, we have no freedom to choose our way of living there, therefore we refuse to pay the price of rent. - We avoid arresting in the municipality of asylum house, this is discrimination. We are not criminals and this limits our freedom of movement. - We demand the right to maintain privacy and a normal life inside a asylum home, not entering our rooms without our consent, not daily checkups.
LEGAL ATTITUDES
Our legal counselors cannot be forced to report our personal information to the ministry
- We want better translation, access to lawyers and proper information about our rights - Ministry decisions are often shamefully unprofessional, they must be monitored by an international commission to see if they meet the right standards or not.
HOUSING
There is systematic discrimination against us in the housing market - due to negative advertising against us, private owners are not willing to rent a room for us - rental support should be extended for an indefinite period - to be able to pay high rent costs during language courses and Cover up work at the same time, it's not realistic. - We can't find a private place in 15 days after receiving our status) This is impossible even for the people of Slovenia (and if we don't find a place we shouldn't be sent to Maribur as a punishment. - We are forced to relocate all the time and the landlords don't want to give us permanent address, this must be done by the ministry. - We don't need more merger homes where many refugees live together in a community, we need a scattered life in public homes.
POLICE DISCRIMINATION
If everyone thinks we are criminals, how can we integrate into society? - We call for stopping the continuous police inspections and police harassment on the streets and even in our homes which is humiliating and also giving our neighbors a negative image of us.
WORK PERMITS
The longer we wait to get a work permit, the harder normal life in Slovenia gets - the 2-month wait is too long for refugees, those who want to work should be allowed to start work immediately. - Uncertified foreigners forced to stay in Slovenia have no way to secure their rights, we must have permission to work and protect our personal respect.
